Lifestyle maternity sessions are my favorite. There is no better way to capture the emotion or personality of someone than in their element. For this maternity session - the mama-to-be's element was in a box.
And by box, I mean a CrossFit gym. Staying strong and very active throughout pregnancy was a top priority for my client. It was a no-brainer for me: capturing the essence of this season of life was my top priority. I love giving my clients the photos they want - the ones that best represent them - and I feel it's my job to listen to their story and bring life to it through each and every image.
In my client's words, here is why CrossFit has been so important to her (and why I made it a focus of her session):
"Over the past two years, CrossFit has been a cornerstone in my life. The lifting made me stronger, the workouts helped me clear my mind, and the community supported me through every up and down that came along the way. Although it was sometimes difficult to make it to the gym through morning sickness and growing pains, I always left feeling better and more confident in myself after the workout. I can't imagine the last 35 weeks without the support of the amazing people that have sweated beside me day in and day out. Most of all, I know I am a stronger woman, and will be a stronger mother because of it."
